The thread that connects my work

There is something powerful about being witnessed.

Sometimes we need another person to help us see parts of ourselves we cannot yet see. Through connection, curiosity, and the experience of being genuinely met, something that has lived outside our awareness can begin to come into focus. Parts of ourselves that have been hidden, protected, or difficult to understand become more recognizable. And what begins as the experience of being seen by another can gradually become our own capacity to see ourselves.

Ways to work together

About Dr. Alexa Altman

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 25 years of experience in trauma, attachment, and relational healing. I often think of my role as a kind of translator, helping give language to experiences that are felt but not yet understood.

Whether working with individuals, couples, or clinicians, my work is grounded in curiosity, connection, and the possibility of meaningful change.
